Divya Unmilan respects your privacy. This website is a reading website: it has no visitor accounts, no registration, no advertising and no tracking. You can read every edition of the magazine without telling us anything about yourself.
What we collect
- Nothing when you simply read. Browsing the magazine, library, books or journal requires no account and sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
- The contact form. If you write to us we keep your name, email address, phone number (if you give one) and your message, so that we can reply. Your IP address is recorded with the message purely to block automated abuse.
- Printed subscriptions and book orders. These are arranged by telephone, WhatsApp or email — not on this website. Your name, postal address and telephone number are written into our own subscriber register, which is kept offline.
- Donations. Payments are made directly through your own UPI application to our bank account. This website never sees or stores any payment detail.
Why we hold it and for how long
We use your details only to reply to you and to deliver the magazine or books you have asked for. Contact-form messages are kept for up to three years and then deleted. Subscriber records are kept for as long as the subscription runs, and for three years afterwards for accounting purposes.
Who else sees it
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or share your details. The only parties who necessarily see your postal address are India Post or the courier carrying your copy. Our website is hosted on a commercial shared-hosting service, whose staff could in principle access the server as part of maintenance.
Cookies
Only two, both strictly necessary: a security token that protects the contact form against misuse, and a session cookie for the editors who sign in to update the site. See our Cookie Policy.
Children
This site is intended for a general readership and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. Write to us at the email address below and we will respond within thirty days. There is no charge.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, administrative access is password-protected, and the subscriber register is kept offline. No system is perfect; if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the revised version here with a new date at the foot of the page.
