Divya Unmilan
“In a thousand ways he serves her royal needs; He makes the hours pivot around her will, Makes all reflect her whims; all in this play: This whole wide world is only he and she.”
The Journey of Divya Unmilan
Our Origin & Mission
Towards the end of the first decade of this century, a few servitors of The Mother chose one of those thousand ways of service: to bring out a magazine in Odia carrying the immortal writings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, and so to place their vision of an ideal life before readers in Odisha and beyond.
At a meeting in Bhubaneswar on 12th December 2011 the quarterly was given the name Unmilan. It became Divya Unmilan in 2014, on obtaining RNI registration OD/ODI/2014/60004. The first issue appeared in April 2012.
Contributors who had been working separately came together under this banner, and many well-wishers have joined them since. The magazine deals chiefly with yoga, education, and the upliftment of integral life and living. In July 2024 it completed its 50th issue, with the number of subscriber-readers growing year by year.
Because an esoteric magazine of this kind cannot meet its printing and distribution costs through advertising, the core committee decided at the outset that it would carry none. It continues solely under the patronage of donors and well-wishers.
Divya Unmilan is published, printed and owned by Adv. Tribeni Giri of Badbil, Dist. Keonjhar, and edited by Madhusudan Mohapatra of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry — assisted by Pravakar Mishra, Umesh Prasad Pattanaik and Prafulla Chandra Mishra of Bhubaneswar, Rabindranath Das of Cuttack, Ramnarayan Patra of Auroville, and Rabindra Kumar Das of Shantiniketan. It is printed at Graphic Art Offset Press, Mangalabag, Cuttack, and distributed by the members of Sri Aurobindo Karmee Sangha, NALCO Nagar, Angul.
